Māris Šverns is a Latvian songwriter. He rose to prominence in the 1990s in the Latvian underground scene both with his band "Baložu pilni pagalmi" and performing solo. His songwriting is so true, personal and unpretentious that anyone can find Māris' song what to sing as his or her own. Today's Latvian musicians prove this in the album "Brothers and Sisters" revealing that Māris' songs fit almost every musical genre.
